What you'll do:
As a Change Manager, you will play a central role in orchestrating the entire lifecycle of change initiatives within a complex IT environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve close coordination with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure that every aspect of the change process is managed efficiently—from initial request through risk assessment, planning, execution, and post-implementation review. You will facilitate key meetings such as the Change Advisory Board (CAB) sessions, lead technical assessments for releases, mediate any conflicts that arise during scheduling or approval stages, and maintain meticulous records for audit compliance. Your ability to communicate clearly across diverse groups will be essential as you provide regular reporting on high-impact or unauthorised changes while supporting continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role means not only delivering robust change outcomes but also nurturing a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared responsibility throughout the organisation.
- Organise and chair regular Change Advisory Board meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the decision-making process.
- Lead release technical assessments by coordinating with technical teams, publishing comprehensive release packages, and facilitating smooth deployments.
- Execute the end-to-end Change Management process, including thorough risk assessments of proposed changes to safeguard production environments.
- Coordinate detailed planning and implementation activities for changes, maintaining an up-to-date forward schedule of change for all relevant parties.
- Ensure root cause analysis is conducted for unsuccessful changes, driving resolution efforts and capturing lessons learned for future improvements.
- Gather information on all change requests and track their status from initiation through to completion, providing clear updates to stakeholders.
- Investigate potential impacts or scheduling risks associated with changes, documenting findings to inform decision-making and mitigate disruptions.
- Mediate conflicts related to scheduling, approvals, or documentation gaps prior to implementing any changes, promoting consensus among teams.
- Collaborate closely with incident management, problem management, release management, and configuration management functions to ensure data consistency across processes.
- Distribute accurate change schedules within agreed timeframes and ensure closure as well as archiving of completed change records for audit purposes.
What you bring:
To excel as a Change Manager in this role, you will bring a wealth of practical experience managing complex IT change processes within regulated industries. Your background should include hands-on familiarity with industry frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL—ideally supported by relevant certifications—and proficiency using ServiceNow or similar platforms. You will have demonstrated success integrating CMDB data into change workflows while producing clear reports that inform both technical teams and business leaders. A solid grasp of project management methodologies like SDLC alongside modern approaches such as Agile or DevOps will enable you to align technology changes with strategic objectives. Beyond technical expertise, your interpersonal skills—such as empathy when mediating between teams or resilience when navigating challenges—will set you apart. Your ability to foster trust through transparent communication ensures that everyone involved feels supported throughout each stage of the process.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline—or equivalent formal education combined with relevant experience—demonstrates your foundational knowledge base.
- Extensive experience (7-10 years) managing change processes within large-scale IT environments ensures you can handle complex scenarios with confidence.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow for managing Change Management processes allows you to leverage industry-standard tools effectively.
- Understanding of Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) framework is highly desirable; certification would be advantageous.
- ITIL certifications are considered a plus as they reflect your commitment to best practices in IT service management.
- Experience integrating Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with change management processes enables more accurate tracking and reporting.
- Proven ability to generate insightful reports and present metrics on change management activities to both business and technical audiences highlights your analytical strengths.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies—including SDLC, Release Management, DevOps practices such as Agile, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD)—is essential for aligning change initiatives with broader organisational goals.
- Awareness of regulatory compliance directives affecting banking demonstrates your understanding of industry-specific requirements.
