ABOUT HUT 8
Imagine the ultimate destination for those who want to work at the cutting edge of technology, energy, and infrastructure. Hut 8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world’s largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining. We are proud to offer interesting and challenging opportunities for individuals who want to build teams, solve problems, and make an impact from day one. If you’re an ambitious individual looking for a career that is as rewarding as it is challenging, you’ve come to the right place.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Enterprise Network & Fiber Infrastructure Architect will own the design, strategy, and standardization of Hut 8’s enterprise network and fiber infrastructure across all data center environments. This role is responsible for defining the architecture that connects facilities, enterprise systems, and carrier networks through resilient, scalable, and well-documented telecom and transport infrastructure. The architect will evaluate existing environments, design future-state network and fiber topologies, and partner with IT, data center operations, and external carriers to implement a reliable backbone that supports both current operations and long-term growth.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
- Design and standardize Hut 8’s enterprise network and fiber infrastructure architecture across all data center sites
- Define resilient network topologies for inter–data center connectivity, metro fiber, and enterprise transport networks
- Architect and standardize meet-me rooms, carrier demarcation strategies, and structured cabling frameworks
- Develop fiber path diversity strategies and eliminate single points of failure across telecom infrastructure
- Lead carrier and vendor technical evaluations, RFP processes, and contract reviews
- Establish network architecture standards, documentation frameworks, and infrastructure design guidelines
- Partner with IT, data center operations, facilities, and security teams to ensure enterprise systems are supported by scalable and redundant networks
- Develop capacity planning models and long-term lifecycle strategies for network and fiber infrastructure
- Provide technical oversight for implementation projects across multiple sites and vendors
- Drive improvements in uptime, resilience, operational efficiency, and telecom cost optimization
ABOUT YOU
- 10+ years of experience in network architecture, telecom infrastructure, or large-scale enterprise networking environments
- Deep experience designing fiber transport networks, including dark fiber, leased waves, DWDM, MPLS, or EVPN architectures
- Strong understanding of physical fiber plant design, structured cabling standards, and meet-me room architecture within data centers
- Experience designing redundant metro and inter-data center fiber paths with strong path diversity and resilience strategies
- Familiarity with carrier interconnection models, cross-connects, and telecom vendor management
- Strong working knowledge of routing and transport technologies including BGP, L2/L3 networking, and high-availability network design
- Experience developing infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational frameworks for multi-site environments
- Ability to translate business continuity and uptime requirements into scalable network architecture
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent networking credentials are a plus
