Full-Stack Engineer
Somnia
Category: EngineeringSubcategory: Full Stack EngineeringType: Full-time
About Somnia:
SOMNIA is the Agentic Chain - a hyper-performance L1 operating at an order of magnitude faster than existing networks. We empower builders and traders to create real-time, autonomous, and fully decentralized products, powered by agents, that were previously impossible and cannot be built anywhere else. It’s where the future of Web3 protocols will be built, so we’re facilitating a new wave of on-chain applications from DEX to Prediction Protocols and much, much more.
Somnia is being developed by Somnia Foundation backed by Improbable, a British tech Unicorn +++ that has been at the forefront of building virtual worlds for over a decade. Somnia received initial funding from MSquared, which raised $150 million from a16z crypto, SoftBank, Mirana Ventures, CMT Digital, and SIG.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to build across the breadth of what Somnia ships, from consumer-facing products to developer technologies to internal platform and tooling. One month that's a polished end-user app, the next it's an SDK, a CLI, or the internal systems the rest of the team builds on.
This is a role for someone who cares as much about the product as the code.
You'll own the full lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to deployment. You use AI tools as a multiplier and like shipping end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design and build production-grade products end-to-end—back-end through UI—across consumer apps, developer-facing technologies and internal platform tooling.
-
Build the high-performance back-ends and services these products depend on.
-
Create developer technologies—SDKs, APIs, CLIs, libraries and starter kits—that make the platform easy to build on.
-
Build internal tooling and platform infrastructure that raises the velocity of the whole team.
-
Work self-directed: watch the ecosystem and the team's needs, spot gaps and propose and build what moves things forward.
-
Work with DevRel, Marketing and BD so what you build lands with users and developers and fits go-to-market.
Must Have: Full-Stack Foundation
-
Strong TypeScript across the full stack—this is the core of the role and our app stack. Some Golang where it fits.
-
Build high-quality, production-ready frontends.
-
Strong back-end engineering—APIs, services and the data layer behind them.
-
Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain products.
-
Strong ownership and self-direction—you generate ideas, not just execute them.
-
Able to turn the dial: prototype fast and loose to prove a feature out, then shift into steady-state mode to harden what's worth keeping—tests, edge cases, reliability.
Nice to Have
-
Web3 / on-chain experience—smart contracts (Solidity/EVM), wallets, or building dApps.
-
Experience building developer technologies—SDKs, APIs, CLIs, or libraries—and the docs and starter kits around them.
-
Strong design skills for polished product UIs.
-
A good grasp of the competitive landscape—and what makes web3 products good.
