Senior Specialist, Travel & Expense (T&E) Operations – Global Business Solutions Center

Overview
The Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) is a shared services center within Mastercard whose mission is to add value to our partners and serve our customers by delivering operational excellence, enhanced customer experiences, and focused business results. The Senior Specialist, T&E will execute on this mission in collaboration with peers and support of Transaction Services Leadership.

Role
• Serve as process lead for global Travel & Expense (T&E) activities within the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) function, ensuring standardized, efficient operations across the shared services organization
• Oversee resolution of complex T&E and expense-related inquiries, ensuring high-quality, timely outcomes and strong customer satisfaction
• Manage day-to-day service delivery, driving process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement across expense reporting and reimbursement processes
• Partner with GBSC, regional, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with company policies, internal controls, and T&E compliance requirements
• Act as a subject matter expert for expense reporting systems (e.g., SAP Concur), supporting system enhancements, issue resolution, and user experience improvements
• Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics (e.g., cycle time, compliance, error rates), providing insights and recommendations to leadership
• Identify, communicate, and lead initiatives to remediate process gaps, enhance controls, and improve overall service delivery
• Ensure adherence to SOX and internal control frameworks, maintaining documentation and serving as a key escalation point for compliance or service issues

All About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Strong experience in Travel & Expense (T&E), expense reporting, and Procure-to-Pay operations within a shared services environment
• Hands-on experience with SAP Concur (Expense and/or Travel) strongly preferred; knowledge of Oracle and Coupa a plus
• Proven ability to manage and improve expense management processes using data-driven, metrics-based performance tools
• Experience partnering with cross-functional and global stakeholders, building trusted relationships and influencing outcomes
• Demonstrated success in resolving complex, high-risk issues related to expense compliance, reimbursement accuracy, and policy adherence
• Strong process improvement mindset with experience identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions to enhance customer experience
• Familiarity with internal controls, audit requirements (including SOX), and risk mitigation practices within financial operations
• Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex process or system issues into actionable insights
