Overview
Business Development Finance supports the development, planning, and execution of corporate strategy through customer business agreements, driving growth across issuers, acquirers, fintech partners, and merchants.
The Manager, Deal Management role will partner closely with business teams across Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to structure, evaluate, and execute commercially sound and strategically aligned deals. This role acts as a trusted financial advisor, ensuring deals drive sustainable revenue growth while managing risk and ensuring compliance in a dynamic and competitive payments landscape.

About the Role
- Deal Structuring & Commercial Advisory
• Support business teams across Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan in structuring and evaluating complex deals from origination to closure, ensuring profitability and compliance with Mastercard’s financial policies.
• Partner with account managers to shape competitive and sustainable deal constructs across issuers, acquirers, digital wallets, and merchants.
• Perform detailed financial analysis including ROI, NPV modeling, and scenario planning to assess risk-return trade-offs.
• Challenge assumptions and apply benchmarking and “reality checks” to strengthen business cases and optimize deal outcomes.
• Actively engage in negotiations, influencing deal economics and ensuring disciplined financial decision-making.
• Collaborate with Legal, Franchise, and Compliance teams to ensure contractual clarity, regulatory alignment, and risk mitigation. - Business Partnering & Market Insight
• Serve as a strategic finance partner to business leaders across HKMT, providing insights on:
o Portfolio performance and deal economics
o Strategic investments and growth initiatives
o Pricing strategies and revenue optimization opportunities
• Support market-specific initiatives, including cross-border payments, digital partnerships, and fintech collaborations relevant to HKMT markets. - Regional & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Drive and contribute to Asia Pacific Deal Management initiatives, ensuring alignment between HKMT and broader regional strategies.
• Collaborate with regional COEs and finance teams to standardize tools, frameworks, and best practices. - Governance, Reporting & Compliance
• Ensure strong financial governance and compliance with US GAAP, local statutory requirements (HK, Macau, Taiwan), and Mastercard policies.
• Oversee deal tracking, reporting accuracy, and timely submission to regional stakeholders.
• Strengthen financial discipline and governance within business teams through structured review processes. - Capability Building
• Enhance financial acumen within commercial teams by coaching on deal modeling, financial implications, and value creation principles.
• Promote a mindset of innovation, value creation, and commercial rigor in deal-making.
All About You
• 6+ years of experience in business finance, deal management, FP&A, or commercial finance, preferably in financial services, payments, fintech, or multinational environments.
• Strong financial modeling capability with experience in investment evaluation and complex deal structuring.
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem in Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan (issuers, acquirers, digital players) is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and partner with senior stakeholders in a matrix organization.
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to balance commercial agility with financial discipline.
• Excellent communication skills (Cantonese and Mandarin required and English advantageous).
• Self-motivated, collaborative, working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and cross-cultural environment.
