Title and Summary

Director, Debit and APM Product Management

Overview
As a senior member of the Asia Pacific Debit, Prepaid & Alternative Payment Methods (APM) team within the Product & Innovation family, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving Mastercard's compete and growth strategy across core payment products in the region. Reporting to the VP, AP Product Management, this role carries direct people management responsibilities and requires a commercially minded leader who can operate at the intersection of strategy, product commercialization, and market execution. You will work closely with market teams, global product, regional acceptance, and divisional stakeholders to scale priority products, convert pipeline, and shape Mastercard's competitive positioning across Asia's rapidly evolving payments landscape.

Role
• Execute Mastercard's compete & collaborate strategy across APMs in Asia, with specific focus on the commercialization and scale-up of WXP (Wallet Express Economics Program).
• Drive commercialization and scale-up of all products under the Essential umbrella — including Essential Debit, Essential for Wallets, and Essential Prepaid — working closely with market teams to convert pipeline. This requires close partnering with global debit and regional acceptance teams.
• Spearhead strategic initiatives including Cost of Acceptance and Tapestry, ensuring alignment with regional priorities and driving execution across relevant markets.
• Serve as the AP product representative supporting the SEA division across all core product support, acting as the bridge between regional product strategy and in-market execution.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and building bench strength within the Asia Debit/Prepaid/APM function.
• Provide regular leadership updates by tracking opportunities, reporting progress, and highlighting required support or resources to achieve objectives.
• Engage regional and in-market stakeholders to identify market opportunities, drive operational efficiencies, and address pain points through structured stakeholder feedback.

All About You
• Significant experience in product management, product commercialization, or business development within payments, fintech, or financial services — with deep knowledge of the debit, prepaid, and APM ecosystem including issuing, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods.
• Proven people leader with experience managing and developing high-performing teams in a matrixed, multi-market environment.
• Strategic and commercially minded — demonstrated ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, build compelling business cases, and deliver measurable growth.
• Strong understanding of financial and pricing concepts, including interchange, MDR, cost of acceptance, and competitive economics.
• Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; comfortable managing complexity and driving execution across multiple parallel initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across diverse markets, cultures, and seniority levels — able to operate credibly with senior leadership, country managers, and global product teams.
• Effective communicator adept at building data-driven narratives that inform, persuade, and drive action.
• Comfortable with technical product concepts and able to articulate product details with customers and internal teams.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — ability to work across product, pricing, acceptance, finance, and business development.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
