About Fusang

Asia’s First Fully-Regulated Digital Securities Exchange

Fusang is Asia’s first fully-regulated digital securities exchange, pioneering the convergence of traditional finance and blockchain technology.

Licensed by the Labuan Financial Services Authority, we created the world’s first institutional tokenised sukuk—recognised with the IFN Most Innovative Deal 2023 award. With over USD 410 million in tokenised instruments issued, we’re proving that regulated digital securities are the future of capital markets.

Our mission is to build the digital superhighway for traditional finance, making investment opportunities more accessible globally. Backed by 40 years of wealth management expertise through our relationship with Portcullis Group, we combine startup innovation with institutional credibility.

We’re looking for exceptional people who want to shape the future of finance.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Team Lead to own the full lifecycle of our AWS, cloud infrastructure and Cybersecurity. Leading a small team, you will spend the majority of your time architecting, implementing, and maintaining our cloud platform—from CI/CD pipelines to security hardening to cost optimization. This is a technically-focused role where you’ll have significant autonomy and direct impact on our systems’ reliability and performance in a regulated fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, secure, and highly-available (HA) infrastructure on AWS
  • Build and manage AWS resources using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) to ensure reproducible, version-controlled, and audit-ready environments
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for networking, VPCs, security groups, load balancers, and inter-service communication patterns
  • Manage CDN, DNS, and secure network access using Cloudflare, WARP, and Tailscale
  • Architect and implement Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) solutions including failover strategies
  • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, tools, and approaches for infrastructure improvements
  • Optimize AWS costs through right-sizing, reserved instances, and resource lifecycle management

CI/CD & Automation

  • Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines, ensuring reliable build, test, and deployment workflows
  • Develop automation scripts and tools (Bash, Python, Node.js) to streamline operations and eliminate manual processes
  • Implement and maintain container orchestration using Docker, ECS, Portainer, and Coolify
  • Drive “zero-touch” deployment philosophy—automated testing, security scanning, and rollback mechanisms
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate infrastructure development and troubleshooting

Security & Compliance

  • Oversee Cybersecurity of the company
  • Enforce security policies including secrets management, IAM best practices, encryption at rest and in transit
  • Manage backup strategies and conduct regular disaster recovery drills to ensure data integrity
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to financial services and digital assets
  • Configure and maintain alerting and monitoring for security monitoring and incident response
  • Implement “shift-left” security by integrating automated security scanning into CI/CD pipelines

Database & Systems Administration

  • Manage and optimize RDS database performance, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and connection pooling
  • Perform OS-level administration, security patching, and system hardening across EC2 instances and container hosts
  • Implement and maintain caching layers for application performance optimization

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability

  • Design and maintain comprehensive monitoring stack using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools
  • Define and enforce SLAs/SLOs, designing processes to maintain maximum uptime for institutional clients
  • Implement alerting strategies and on-call procedures for rapid incident response
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures

Collaboration & Team Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate a small DevOps team, providing technical direction and code reviews
  • Work closely with development teams to develop CI/CD pipeline and improve deployment workflows
  • Maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and architectural decision records (ADRs)
  • Troubleshoot and support deployment during production changes.
  • Troubleshoot and support production issues during incidents

Requirements & Qualifications

Required

  • Experience: 8+ years in DevOps roles
  • AWS Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3, and ALB/NLB
  • Infrastructure as Code: Production experience with Terraform or CloudFormation; ability to architect modular, reusable IaC
  • Container Orchestration: Strong experience with Docker and container management tools (ECS, Portainer, Coolify)
  • CI/CD: Expertise in building and optimizing pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Bash, Python, and/or Node.js for automation tasks
  • Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, CDN (Cloudflare), and secure access solutions (Tailscale, WARP)
  • Database Management: Experience with RDS (PostgreSQL), performance tuning, and backup/recovery procedures
  • English Proficiency: Professional-level written and verbal communication for documentation and stakeholder collaboration
  • AI-Assisted Development: Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot is essential—this is a core part of how we build software at Fusang

Preferred

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • Experience in regulated industries (Fintech, Blockchain, Digital Assets, or Financial Services)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
