Role Description
Our OTC Tech team builds and maintains the systems behind our OTC derivatives trading, working directly with traders and quants. The team is small, so engineers have wide ownership and a direct line to the people using what they build.
We are looking for a hands-on Rust engineer with options trading or financial engineering exposure to join the team. Parts of our OTC derivatives stack are quant-heavy, and some libraries are difficult to change safely without deeper domain knowledge. You will be the person who can work confidently in that code. The role remains primarily engineering, not research.
- Build, maintain and extend OTC derivatives trading systems in Rust
- Implement and modify pricing, risk and quoting logic designed by our quant and research teams, translating models into reliable production code
- Take ownership of quant-heavy libraries that are currently hard to change, and make them safer to evolve
- Work closely with traders to turn requirements into shipped features
- Own features end to end, from pricing logic through to the trader-facing tools, including some front-end work in Typescript
Requirements
Must Have
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a comparable role, with the ability to work autonomously
- Strong Rust - the primary language for this role
- Hands-on experience building or supporting options or derivatives systems, such as pricing, risk, quoting or trade booking, at a bank, trading firm or market maker
- Quantitative grounding: enough to read, understand and implement pricing and risk models (you will not be expected to design or price derivatives from scratch)
- Experience building production systems in a trading or other high-stakes environment
- Able to work directly with traders: turn their requests into clear requirements, explain technical trade-offs simply, and keep them informed when something goes wrong
Preferred
- Experience at an OTC derivatives desk, options market maker, or institutional crypto trading firm
- Experience with pricing libraries, volatility surfaces, Greeks, or risk systems
- Experience beyond backend work, such as front-end, internal tooling or data pipelines
- Startup or small-team experience with end-to-end ownership and a fast delivery pace
- C++ background - useful where Rust experience is being built
