Platform Engineer

The UP – Analytics Front Office team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who relishes working in challenging time-critical environments solving complex problems alongside highly capable peers.  Our team operates services providing real-time PnL and Risk monitoring services for a diverse group of trading desks each with varying degrees of portfolio and model complexity.   

While previous experience in the trading and finance industry is beneficial, we’re looking for talented software engineers with or without industry-specific expertise. We are open to remote workers for this role with the correct set of skils.

UP (Unified Platform) consolidates data and technologies into a comprehensive solution, accelerating time to market. Optimizing decision-making and research, our platform simplifies implementing new ideas, enhancing our competitive edge.

UP - PI (Platform Infrastructure) Writes and operates systems that accelerate other development teams. They provide managed services to technologists across all of DRW, helping domain experts focus on their business-critical goals. They create software to connect people, projects, and information, preventing silos and opacity.

For the appropriate candidate, we are open to remote employees for this role.

Expectations:

• Write, maintain, operate and improve managed infrastructure services for technologists firm-wide
• Design and communicate standards for how centrally managed services can be used
• Support internal technologists with triage, education, and consulting
• Write, maintain, operate, and improve bespoke applications for internal use, focused on visibility and integration across teams.
• Enable other teams to focus on business domains.
• Influence outcomes through dozens of software teams.
• Broadcast contagious passion for developer experience.
• Consolidate diverse and redundant approaches to common problems.

Desirable Experience:

• Three or more years of high impact contributions in Software Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or adjacent roles
• Expertise in operating infrastructure at scale
• Expertise in Kubernetes, Apache Airflow, Kafka, Redis
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, Java, Ruby
• Comfort deploying software to the cloud and on-premises
• Proven success in elevating standards for non-functional requirements like security, observability, reliability, and speed of delivery
• Informed perspective about AI Agents as development tools
• Record of accomplishment of enhancing the capabilities of other engineers and teams

The annual base salary range for this position is $100k to $175k depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
