Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Vision & Ownership: Take full executive ownership of the end-to-end design, development, operation, and continuous scaling of the platform’s core trading engines, custody systems, and matching infrastructure.
• Security & Compliance First: Architect and enforce institutional-grade cybersecurity frameworks. Ensure all technical operations strictly adhere to Hong Kong SFC regulatory requirements, ISO/IEC 27001 standards, and SOC 2 compliance.
• Technology Roadmap & Innovation: Drive the technological vision of the company. Anticipate industry trends in Web3, blockchain interoperability, and digital assets to keep the platform’s tech stack resilient, competitive, and future-proof.
• Vendor & Partner Management: Lead the technical evaluation, integration, and ongoing management of critical third-party vendors, including blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic), KYC/AML providers, and institutional custody partners.

Professional Experience

• Extensive Tenure: 15+ years of progressive technology experience, with a minimum of 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Technology).
• TradFi meets DeFi: Unique, proven track record bridging traditional financial services (TradFi)—such as investment banking, brokerage, or exchanges—and Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) technology operations.
• Regulatory & SFC Expertise: Direct, interactive experience working with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and external assessor(s) during VATP (and/or Type 1 & Type 7) license applications. Deep understanding of the SFC’s technical, cybersecurity, and algorithmic trading guidelines.
• Deep Subject Matter Expertise: Hands-on background in institutional-grade platform architecture, distributed ledger technology (DLT), blockchain protocols, wallet custody solutions (Hot/Cold/Warm).
• Governance & Integrity: Proven experience establishing rigorous daily technical governance, high-availability/low-latency systems, and robust disaster recovery/business continuity planning (DR/BCP) in a highly regulated environment.

 Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Academic Excellence: Holds an university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related highly technical discipline from a top-tier institution.
• Professional Certifications: Possesses recognized professional technical and security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC) demonstrating a strong foundation in enterprise IT security, risk management, and technology governance.
• Cloud & Architecture Credentials: Relevant certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed systems are highly advantageous.

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Team Building: Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and lead high-performing, cross-functional engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams globally and locally in Hong Kong.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a critical bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work hand-in-hand with the CEO, Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to align technology initiatives with business goals and regulatory mandates.
• Crisis Management: Calm and decisive under pressure, with a proven ability to lead incident response teams during system outages, market volatility spikes, or cybersecurity threats.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (fluency in Mandarin is a strong plus given the Hong Kong location).
