Development Lead

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term backend architecture strategy aligned with business goals
• Oversee system design across multiple services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
• Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across the organization
• Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, and trade-off analysis for major engineering decisions
• Drive platform modernization initiatives and technical debt reduction
• Champion observability, performance engineering, and operational excellence
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend architects and senior engineers
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
• Drive hiring and onboarding for the backend architecture team
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
• Coordinate cross-team technical initiatives and resolve architectural conflicts

Requirements

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead or principal role
• Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems in production
• Strong experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
• Deep expertise in backend languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar)
  -Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and API design
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) and modern infrastructure practices
• Strong understanding of database design, caching, messaging, and high-concurrency systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
